Overview:
Premier League has been quite different this season. Premier league is known for its competitive nature the title race continues till the last breath but this year it was quite different, it was Liverpool from the very beginning. But the competition is still there for other places, especially the Champions league spots and that what makes this competition one of the most crucial ones for both Manchester United and Chelsea.
Chelsea had a shaky start in the beginning but they have gained the momentum, Frank Lampard is the major reason for that. He’s been there, he knows how to handle the pressure and he knows how to perform when you are the underdogs, how can we forget that Munich night.
On the other hand, Manchester United are still finding ways to bring back the glory to the reds and they have been consistently failing to do so. They’ve been struggling from the beginning.
Chelsea are currently fourth on the points table with 41 points from 25 fixtures while United are on the ninth spot with 35 points from the same number of games.
But they say, you can never underestimate a Premier League team and both sides will be locking horns for a Champions League spot here. For Frank Lampard’s side, a win takes them nine points clear of their visitors who for the same reason will be desperate to avoid this and claim victory themselves to close to within three points to the hosts.
Line-Ups:
Chelsea will be without Christian Pulisic who has missed last six matches due to an unspecified injury while Reuben Loftus-Cheek is also unlikely to participate as he is still in the recovery process from his Achilles injury. Star performer, Tammy Abraham is also in doubt. Another question for Lampard will be of the Keeper, whether he recalls Kepa Arrizabalaga or to again opt for Willy Cabellero who is yet to give Lampard a reason to drop him.
On the other hand, Manchester United will be without McTominay who is suffering from a Knee injury and Rashford is also out for the season which their new signing Odion Ighalo might make his United debut against Chelsea.
Willian and Kante might be the difference between both of the teams as they have been brilliant throughout the season.
Conclusion:
It seems like if Chelsea will have the edge here keeping in mind the points table position and their form which was far better then what United had throughout the season. And secondly, they are also hosting and we know how lethal they are at Stamford Bridge. So it seems as Chelsea will be the ones taking the three points home.
